Stop the Cuts March

On Saturday the 19th February 2011, the Isle of Wight Labour Party joined with council workers, unions and residents of all ages  in a march organised by the Stop The Cuts Alliance in Newport. Hundreds of protestors marched from the Quay around Newport with placards and banners calling on the Isle of Wight Council's Tory group to call a halt to the savage cuts to services that they are proposing. The march ended with a rally  in St Thomas's Square, which  was addressed by several speakers including Mark Chiverton, Geoff Lumley and Bob Burton.
